The fastest Ford Mustang Mach-E models available, the GT and GT Performance Edition, will go on sale this fall. Starting at $66,000 for the GT Performance Edition and $61,000 for the GT, the latter is nearly $24,000 more than the V8 Mustang GT and $1190 cheaper than Tesla's Model Y Performance. Orders for the 480 horsepower electric vehicle will open on April 28th (this Wednesday).

Mach-E GTs are equipped with an 88-kWh battery pack, and total output is 480 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, or 643 lb-ft in the GT Performance Edition. This power is sent to all four wheels thanks to a dual-motor layout, and a 0-60 mph time of 3.8 seconds (GT) and 3.5 seconds (GT Performance Edition) is claimed. To assist in harnessing this power, a new driving mode has been added: Unbridle Extend, which is intended for track use only.

Range figures are estimated at 250 miles for the GT, and 235 miles in the GT Performance Edition's case. The longest-range Mach-E obtainable is the California Route 1, which is estimated at 305 miles of range. BlueCruise, Ford's hands-free driving system, will be available at some point on both models.

In terms of styling, both benefit from red Brembo brakes, a carbonized gray grille, 20-inch black wheels, and GT badging. Meanwhile, the GT Performance Edition also has summer tires, standard magnetorheological dampers, unique wheels, and special badging, as well as performance seats with metallic stitching and an aluminum instrument panel. Cyber Orange and Grabber Blue, previously exclusive to the First Edition, have been added to the GT and GT Performance Edition's striking color palette.

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition will go on sale in Fall 2021 starting at $61,000 and $66,000, respectively.
