5 new cars perfect for internet car people
Endlessly complaining about how cars were better in the past? I might have new cars you could like
The internet is a wonderful place for car people, it is accessible to nearly everyone and thanks to various Youtube channels like Doug Demuro and CarWow, it is also the perfect place for car people to constantly whine and critique new car designs saying that either the interior is crap or the exterior looks like it has been designed by someone whose eyes have divorced with the rest of their body (Other social media sites are available as well). One thing you will here people on the internet say a lot maybe more than the design however is how the old version of the car that is coming out is better than the new one. And if you are one of those people who thinks cars were better many many years ago, here are 5 new cars that are being made and sold new that are like how cars were in the past.
The Nismo is pricy tho
Starting of with the 2nd oldest car on this list is obviously the Nissan 370Z, with the new "400Z" on the way soon it is now or never to go and get what is essentially a time capsule. Manual, V6, naturally aspirated sports car with driving experience the main focus instead of technology and lap times. Yes I know the Ford Mustang GT will whip this thing for around the same money and yes it only has 350HP and yes I also know it does 0-100kph in 5.3 seconds (The WRX STI is quicker) which is not as fast as most of it's rivals but what you get is a good representation of what a sports car was like 10 years ago today and with an infotainment system that is so crap that you will just want to drive it and pray you never have to use it.
Porsche Cayman GT4/Boxster Spyder
Best looking Porsche currently (fight me in the comments)
But lets say you are more for German cars and willing to spend quite a lot more but still want something naturally aspirated (NA) with a manual, then you probably are looking at a Porsche Cayman 718 GT4. This mid-engine, NA manual sports car has a 4.0 liter flat six with 414HP that revs high and has enough speed to satisfy your daily speed craving (Unless you drive rockets or Koenigseggs daily). The GT4 version of the Cayman was never available with paddles until the current version but thankfully Porsche charges extra for the paddles. But should you feel that the roof is a hinderance you can also get the Boxster Spyder which is essentially a Cayman GT4 with no roof.
Tired of hearing about sports cars? Well its GOOD NEWS, because the 3rd car I have is the new Dacia Sandero but wait, don't just type "Anyway..." in the comments and move on, please actually hear me out because for the past a lot of years, Dacia has been providing cheap motoring that are basically modern versions of a 2000s small cheap hatchback. Using previous generation bits from Renault means that very little if any R&D has to be done and couple that with very low quality materials inside means the cars can span from very expensive (By Dacia standards) with an infotainment screen and alloy wheels to having basically no thrills at all and steel wheels. The perfect car then for those who complain that having a screen in your car is distracting and you want to "FEEL" your car. And what's more Dacia cars start from very cheap which means you do not need to shell out an arm, leg and one of your family members to have a new car.
Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series
What most SUVs should be like
The 4th car is not rally fair as it is only sold in a few countries like the middle east but I cannot ignore the 70 series Toyota Landcruiser. Now before you start telling me that this is not a new car as the current one is the 200 series, let me stop you there and ask you to go on google before you tell me that. Now the 200 series gets praise for being an indestructible go anywhere luxury car in the US and being the UN's official car of choice but if you want something more old school then I suggest the much older but still new 70 series. This car is available with diesel and petrol engines and even a 4 or 5 speed manual being old does not mean it is unsafe as Toyota has updated the 70 series with all of their modern safety features. Despite the modernization this car still prioritizes off-road capabilities over luxury unlike the Land Cruisers that followed later, I'm not criticizing the current 200 series for being luxury focused but if you want a Toyota Land Cruiser that is not as focus on on-road capabilities and more retro looking then maybe you should import an old 70 series as they are 25 years old or even just go and buy a new one if you live in a country that sells it.
Rounding of the list is another "Get it while you still can" car and that is the current BMW M2, this car does not really need an explanation as so many people have praised it but in short it is a less complicated and technology reliant version of the M4 and with the introduction of the CS model it means that this brilliant car is not long for this world, fear not though BMW people as the next 2 series coupe will be rear wheel drive but might feature the eye piercing grille.
I obviously missed a few cars that should have been on this list so feel free to go to tell me in the comments and I might write a part 2 of this list.
