5. Porsche Carrera GT

The Porsche Carrera GT is one of most loved cars in the car community and is most often praised for its amazing driving experience and the sound. That sound comes from a DOHC 5.7 L V-10 that produces 603 horsepower and 435 lb ft of torque. Mated to that beastly motor is a 6-speed manual transmission, making this one of the last analog supercars. It also has no stability control. The best part of all is the 8,400 rpm redline. A V-10 that revs past 8,000 rpm is sure to sound amazing. And the Carrera GT sure does!

4. Laferrari

The Laferrari has been on lots of my articles. It truly is one of the greatest cars ever made. And in my opinion it is one of the best sounding cars out there. The naturally aspirated 6.3 L V-12 can rev all the way up to 9,250 rpm and produces 789 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 516 lb ft of torque at 6,750 rpm. The hybrid system adds 160 horsepower, which brings the car to 949 horsepower and 664 lb ft of torque. I actually got to hear one on the highway with my own ears. My dad and I were headed to a burger restaurant when all the sudden I look in the rear view mirrior and see a red Laferrari. It crept closer and closer until it was right behind us. The engine wasn't even revving high and it was roaring very loudly. It was one of the coolest things I had ever seen in my life!

3. 1970 Chevorlet Chevelle SS 454

There is noting like a classic V-8 muscle car with a big block motor. The LS6 is a 7.4 L big-block V-8 that could produce an incredible 450 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 500 lb ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. These figures are still incredible to this day and in 1970 this was absolutely monstrous! It has a 0-60 time of just 5.0 seconds and a quarter mile time of 13.1 seconds at 107 mph. The Chevelle is one of my all time favorite cars and I think it is an amazing muscle car. It truly defines American performance from a better time.

2. Shelby GT350R

I am going to jump right to the point. The Shelby GT350R uses a 5.2 L naturally aspirated, flat-plane crankshaft V-8 that has 4-valves per cylinder and uses dual overhead camshafts. It produces 526 horsepower and 429 lb ft of torque. Because of its even firing between its banks of cylinders and unique exhaust headers it sounds nothing like a Ferrari V-8 and sounds so much better. The engine has a redline of 8,250 rpm and it uses a 6-speed manual transmission. The car sounds truly incredible and its rated by many to be a great drivers car!

1. Lexus LFA

Ah the Lexus LFA. A truly exciting car. The LFA proved that Toyota could make true drivers cars as they have in the past. Only 500 were produced from 2010 to 2012. The engine was co-developed by Toyota and Yamaha (which might be why the car sounds so good since Yamaha develops musical instruments). It is a 4.8 L naturally aspirated V-10 that fires evenly between its banks of cylinders. It could produce up to 552 horsepower and 354 lb ft of torque. Mated to the engine is a 6-speed automated manual. The interior is made up of quality materials and leather with large metal shift-paddle that make a metallic click every time you shift. The engine can redlines at 9,000 rpm and has a fuel cut-off at 9,500 rpm. Not only is the Lexus LFA the best sounding car in my opinion, but is one of my most favorite cars in the world!

  • damn to say anything on this list is better sounding than a Carrera GT, 991.2 GT3, or 430 Scuderia is very ballsy, especially a Mustang, from experience I know that a GT3 with a center muffler bypass essentially shuts down the GT350R’s volume
