Being a Dad is hard. Not because I’m a Dad and I know how hard it, but because no matter what you do, your kids will find you embarrassing. Every word you say, every breath you take, every move you make. Its so, so embarrassing.

Even when it comes to cars. If you have any car that isn’t a Lamborghini Aventador or Ferrari 488, I can assure you, your kids find it embarrassing when you pull up outside the school gates.

Here is a list of a 5 cars that will increase your ‘Dad points’ slightly.

Starting price – £24825

Coming in at number 5 is the Ford Focus ST Estate. My second article on DRIVETRIBE was on the Ford Focus, where I explained that the Ford Focus is one of the best all round car that money can buy, no wonder it’s one of the best-selling cars in the UK. The Focus ST estate is the cheapest car on this list with a starting price of £24,825, it also has the best fuel economy out of all of the cars on the list, reaching 72mpg on the motorway and 49mpg in the city. Not only is it cheap, it will save you a lot of money on Fuel as well.

Starting price - £35,955

Coming in at number 4 is the Volkswagen Golf R. The Golf R is a fantastic car, but as an estate the car looks incredible, it certainly is the complete opposite of the normal Audi A4 or BMW 3-Series Diesel. With big chunky quad exhausts and aggressive front grill, the Golf R estate will make you a much cooler Dad. Your kids may even allow themselves to be seen in public with you. Especially if you floor it away from the school gates, deafening everyone and making little kids cry form the noise and squealing of tires.

The Audi RS6 Estate

Starting price - £79,545

In at number 3 is the Audi RS6. The Audi RS6 was an obvious choice to add to this list, any Dad who buys and RS6 is officially a legend. The RS6 is the absolute pinnacle of sports estates. Available with a powerful 4.2 litre Twin-Turbo V8 with over 550 BHP, making it one of the most powerful estate cars ever made. It will show up all the other Dads with their Range Rovers and Land Rovers.

Starting price - £90,000

Number 2 on this this is the most bonkers estate car ever. The Mercedes E63 AMG. On serval lists of ‘cool estate cars’ the E63 AMG hasn’t featured, which has really annoyed me. Out of every car on this list the E63 is the most mental. All AMG cars have that stupidly loud exhaust that as much as it irritates literally everyone, is quite cool. If my Dad turned picked me up from College in an E63 AMG estate I’d look past his stamp collecting and think he was quite cool.

Starting price – £36,545

Of course, at number 1 on this list is the Jaguar XF Sportbrake. The Jaguar XF Sportbrake is the ultimate cool estate car, but to own a Jag you’ve got to be able to pull it off. The Jaguar is the complete image of sport and luxury, yes you can trundle along nice and comfortably but if anyone tries to overtake you, you can floor it and kill them off easily without your upsetting your Mrs. The XF Sportbrake is one of the sportiest and luxury car combination that you can imagine, and that’s why it tops this list of cool estate cars.

And just for everyone wondering why the Porsche Panamera didn't make this list, here why...
