5 ways the GT3 EVO has become the Lamborghini Huracan of our dreams
The latest evolution in Lamborghini motorsport
When the official Lamborghini motorsport division, Lamborghini Squadra Corse, put their heads together you know that they mean business. Just look at the raging bulls that they have developed in the past such as the Huracán GT3 - the super sports car which has won nothing short of 12 international titles, the exclusive Rolex 24 at Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring.
One might ask how Lamborghini could possibly improve a supercar like the GT3 but then again, one doesn't need to - they already have.
When Giorgio Sanna, Head of Lamborghini Motorsport, made an objective to "improve drivability, making the car easier and more predictable for gentleman drivers, with low management costs for the teams" during the development of the GT3, a new legend was born.
This is the Huracan GT3 EVO.
The evolved and enhanced V10 Huracan GT3 racer that made its official debut during the Nurburgring stage of Lamborghini's international motorsport series, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. Developed entirely at Sant’Agata Bolognese by Squadra Corse, the EVO is a lighter, faster and enhanced GT3 which Sanna claims is "the result of experience gained over the last three years of racing on circuits worldwide."
Here's everything you need to know...
1. Improved handling and aerodynamics -
A one year collaboration with Dallara, the Italian chassis manufacturer with over 40 years of motorsport experience, has seen the EVO receive an updated design which has greatly improved its aerodynamics.
Or to put it more simply... these changes have seen the EVO gain improved stability, reduced pitch sensitivity (to you and me, that's better handling with less risk of that 'oversteer' 'understeer' thing Jeremy Clarkson talks about) and a more effective cooling capacity of the radiator to keep the engine running smooth. The updates also make the car look far more aggressive too - just look at that spoiler!
2. A track car with a reliable engine? Count us in...
The EVO is equipped with the same naturally-aspirated V10 5.2 litre engine used in the latest generation of road Huracans. It has adopted new camshafts and titanium valves to make the car easier to drive and to offer more reliability during endurance races where performance is vital.
3. Light, tight and in control -
Under the body, the front suspension has been modified and lightened. The rear axle has also received new hubs, bearings and axle shafts. This allows for more efficiency and easier maintenance.
The Öhlins shock absorbers have also been changed and are now four-way. This was done to ensure the best possible control, even when cornering and approaching the kerbs of the track at high speeds.
4. Less deathly? -
Lamborghini also claim that 'Livability' has increased. So what does that mean exactly?
Well, in short, it means that Lamborghini have made changes to the EVOs roll cage. (The special frame built in the passenger side of the vehicle to protect the people inside the car from getting injured in the event of an accident, especially if there's a rollover.)
Not only does this change make the car safer, but it has also made the EVO more comfortable for taller drivers. Win Win!
5. Fast, fun and furious -
While I could bang on all day about how cool and how great the EVO is, nothing will make you fall in love with a Lamborghini more than the feelings it provokes inside us. So, with that in mind, I'll let you watch this and draw your own conclusions...
Lamborghini
I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see the EVO take to the track next year. It looks mean!

It's definitely an impressive machine, but it does look a bit...squashed.
That is very true...
And green...
Few more things;the engine is in 'Peformante' specs, has a 4way adjustable power steering as in the new Supertrofeo and it costs 389000euros(tax excluded) but you can update your Huracan Gt3 by the Evo kit
Oh to have an existing GT3 right?!
