Volkswagen has recalled 56,000 Mk8 Golfs after the German hatchback was hit by a software issue. It is told that the glitch affects the infotainment system and reversing camera of the car.

A VW spokesman claims that the recall was not mandatory but it was a "voluntary service measure". Golfs built before July 2020 are affected by this issue.

This is not the first time the Golf 8 has been hit by a software glitch. Last year in June, after the first 15,000 Golfs were delivered to customers, the Golf was plagued by a software issue related to the emergency call function.

Despite all these problems, the Golf was the the top-selling car in Europe with 312,000 deliveries.
