The Infiniti Q60 Black S performance hybrid prototype make it's debut next week at the Paris Motor Show. This hybrid beast is expected to reach 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just under 4 seconds.

It's powered by a 3.0 L V6 along with a Formula One-style KERS energy recovery system that is able to output a total of 563 hp. The Infiniti Q60 Black S performance is based on the Q60 coupe which was featured at the Geneva Motor Show last year.

Roland Krueger, Infiniti's global boss, has said, “Project Black S utilises high power and smart energy management from advanced powertrains, a thrilling dynamic capability on road and track, and a performance-oriented aesthetic. A collaborative venture between Infiniti and the Renault Sport Formula 1 Team, the Project Black S prototype is a test bed for new ideas and technologies, demonstrating how our Alliance partnerships could make our ambitious visions a reality.”

What do you think?

  • “Beast”? Lol, even in 2015, ~550hp was about $25k in a variety of different used platforms. We all “know a person” w a 1,000hp something. This will get shamed by a stock manual Hellcat even on a roadcourse, let alone dollars-to-dollars when this comes out at $65k+ msrp.

“Most Radical hybrid”? Please refer to what Porsche/Audi/Ford... even Chevy have made - even less what they have cooking. Japanese brands are trying so hard to market their relevance. Not that this “Black S” edition (Nissan just copies Mercedes Benz again - also look at those suspicious curves/vents/color) isn’t a step in the right direction, but we all know to expect midsize-truck-like weight, over-complicated engineering, lots of plastic/vinyls to eliminate any claims at “luxury”, and cost-compromised appliance that will end up being a pretty cool option for middle class first time drivers after two owners (if it is reliable enough) or a (inevitable) crash, and never win a single serious race not set up by Nissan itself. Japan was such a powerhouse of design and innovation... sad. At least, Mazda is still up on good design (original forms too!) and engineering with their range-extending rotary and efficient skyactiv-x (or w/e). It’s a dark time for Nissan fans, who watch their Z car become a crossover, their GTR resort to “Mustang”-level horsepower compensations to get a single snapchat maybe, and make cars like this - at Audi RS prices which thanks to Porsche “is like, so lit right now, brah”.

    • I agree with most of it... especially with the Nissan-Renault mixture... Damn, ever since they started “working together” Nissan went downhill... downsize, down-power... etc. Although for a “premium” saloon, the goal isn’t winning at...

    • It’s not just Nissan sharing expensive rooms w Renault, like BMW reverting their beautiful Carbon drive shafts in their M cars BACK to cheaper steel units, there’s a sort of virus that suddenly struck the heritage/lineage/aims of most...
