6 minutes and 47.3 seconds.. a new world record for Porsche

Porsche have finally put their GT2RS on the Nurburgring and it has set a new world record. That record is the fastest Nurburgring lap set by a road legal, rear-wheel drive car produced by a manufacturer. Not only that but it also set the second-fastest road car record with a time of 6:47.30.

You can watch the video Porsche put up of the GT2RS hammering the Nurburgring. I have to say the yellow/black combo on this does look seriously cool. Can't wait to see how other customers spec their GT2RS. I know of a few people in the UK getting theirs soon.

Also without warning Porsche released the full onboard footage before anyone even requested it. It's interesting to see the POV when driving at such insane speeds. The best part of the video below would be 6 minutes into the video. The speeds this road car can hit are insane and it sticks to the track so so well. Looking forward to seeing some of these in public in the near future!

So how long do you think it'll keep its title for? Will it be long before something else beats the time of 6 minutes 47.3 seconds? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
