When I think of Cadillac, the first word that comes to mind is 'luxury.' I immediately picture someone wearing RayBan Wayfarers, one arm on the door and one resting on top of the steering wheel in complete and utter bliss. However, if you know your Cadillacs, you'll know they have the ability to make some fantastic sports cars and concepts that leave the world with their jaws on the floor.

I've whittled down the long list of cool Cadillacs to my ultimate six that absolutely knocked it out the park.

6) Cadillac Evoq

Unveiled a the '99 Detroit Motor Show, it is fair to say the Evoq is stunning. It still looks contemporary almost 20 years on. A lot of the Evoq's design would find its way into the Cadillac XLR.

5) Cadillac Coupe DeVille

Is this not one of the most iconic designs in history? This is very high on my bucket list to drive. It might be a little tricky to parallel park though…

4) Cadillac World Thorium Fuel Concept

Made for the 100th anniversary of Cadillac, it was designed to last 100 years without a fuel-up. Talk about ambitious, but just look at that design. You could cut your hand on it it's so sharp.

3) Cadillac Cien concept

Another concept to celebrate their 100th anniversary ('Cien' being Spanish for 100), the Cien still looks futuristic today. I have a particular affinity with this car as it was playable in Midnight Club 3.

2) Cadillac Sixteen

What so significant about the number 16, I hear you ask? Well this magnificent machine had a V16 engine displacing… wait for it… 13.6-litres. Just epic.

1) Cadillac CTS-V

This is the car that made the world properly take note of Cadillac again. This was a proper performance car and in 2009, it strongly challenged the best that Europe had to offer. Still in production today, the 2019 Cadillac is the most powerful they've ever made.

  • I think you're forgetting the original Sixteen. This is what made the name so great.

    • Oh yes, good one. Did you know there is a beautiful V16 with a boat tail body by Farina, that was actually designed for a Maharajah to go hunting tigers in, of all things?

    • I did not. Those Maharajahs had style.

  • I don’t even like American/muscle cars that much but I’d gladly have a CTS-V wagon...

  • V16. More cars should have V16s...
