2021 Panamera 4S and 4 E-Hybrid models also join the lineup.
1. Porsche has released details on the 2021 Panamera.
2. Included in the lineup is a 689 horsepower E-Hybrid model.
3. All three updated models will be available in the Spring of 2021.
The Panamera is a more practical non-SUV Porsche, and now comes with a ton of horsepower. Starting with the Turbo S E-Hybrid, it's powered by a beastly 4.0 L V8 that generates 563 horsepower, a figure of which is 13 more than the previous Panamera's engine. It doesn't end there though, Porsche has paired this twin-turbo V8 with a 134 horsepower electric motor, hence the 'E-Hybrid' nameplate. This combination makes the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid capable of 689 horsepower.
According to Porsche, Sport Chrono package equipped sedan and Sport Turismo models will hit 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds. Executive variants will do 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and can climb to a top speed of 196 mph. 2021 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid models store a 2.9 L twin-turbocharged V6 under the hood, and also utilizes the previously mentioned 134 horsepower electric motor. 4 E-Hybrids with the Sport Chrono package should do 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. All three plug-in hybrid models are available as a sedan, a long-wheelbase Executive model, or a wagon-resembling Sport Turismo. In addition, all three carry Porsche's updated 17.9 kWh battery.
It isn't just plug-in models though, a traditional gas-powered Panamera is still available. The 2021 Panamera 4S has a 2.9 L twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 449 horsepower. With help from the Sport Chrono package, the 4S will do 0-60 in just 3.9 seconds on its way to a 183 mph top speed. As far as transmissions go, all Panamera models will use a 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Pricing has yet to be announced, however ordering is open and all models should be in dealerships in the spring of 2021.
