Race review for Kingston A and Kingston B in the 2016 6h Varsity from Rye House
6h varsityAdrian Jarych posted in Koks Racing5y ago1.2K Award- As we arrived to the track we were spellbound by the conditions mother nature gave us that day. Even though there were only 7 teams, we all knew it was going to be an interesting day.- With these bad conditions, the race was delayed by 20 min. After 20 min which felt like eternity, the qualifying was on the way. Brunel B taking the pole position with Kingston A on the front row. - A strong start from A. Hunt held 2nd position in a Brunel sandwich. Kingston B who qualified 4th had a terrible start however it was the "TK time" quickly regaining the 4th place and setting the fastest lap time at the time. 0:06- Wet condition in the beginning but the track evolved really quickly at the end of my stint. It was refuelling time. Coming in too hot and locking the rear wheels, I managed to spin in the pits. Losing valuable time. *Facepalm*0:20- Kingston B quite unfortunate getting stuck behind a broken kart in the pits. lost so much laps that it relegated them to 6th I wouldn't want to be in Ed's situation.0:08- For the 3rd stint Mike (Niki Lauda) was on a mission to get all the positions lost from Kingston B. Fairly dry, he was able to make up heaps amount of time. 0:09- In the 4th hour. I was back again re-joining behind Brunel A with 1 lap behind. With matched pace we lapped Brunel B, however lost some time due to back-markers. Regained 2nd place and over 2 hours to go, it wasn't over yet. - Brunel A got a 30 sec penalty for speeding in the pitlane. That definitely put us back in the game. A.Hunt was on fire constantly setting the best lap times and hunting Brunel A rapidly. - With about 10 min to go we were right behind Brunel A fighting for the lead. B.Smith committed down the inside of the Stadium corner, however, it wasn't meant to be.- 6H of racing for 3 sec gap at the chequered flag. Congratulations to Brunel A winning this years 6H varsity. Glad to put on the show and put on the fight for the lead. We will definitely come back next year to take the top step of the podium.Race review for Kingston A and Kingston B in the 2016 6h Varsity from Rye House Award Adrian
