With 230 cars currently in GT Sport, it is difficult to pinpoint my five favourite cars. But having logged over 100 hours on the game - and winning pretty much all the single-player races it has to offer - I think I've got an idea of what cars I consider to be my favourites.
HONOURABLE MENTION - SRT TOMAHAWK X VGT
The SRT Tomahawk X VGT is the fastest car on the game - with a top speed of 400+ mph, but with such insane speed comes a lot of issues, mainly with amateur f**kwits ruining online lobbies by selecting this car and ramming into people just minding their own business. If that wasn't the case, the Tomahawk would definitely be in my Top 5...
5) RENAULTSPORT R.S.01 GT3 (GR.3)
We start with a safe bet of a car if you're ever brave enough to complete in the Sport Mode's Gr.3 races. Originally built as the car for a real life one-make Renault racing series in 2015 and 2016, the R.S.01 is 542 BHP of consistency, reliable handling and superb straightline speed. It costs 500,000 credits from Brand Central - and is suitable for the Clubman Cup, Midship Challenge and the Gr.3 Endurance series in GT League.
4) MCLAREN ULTIMATE VGT (GR.X)
The first Vision Gran Turismo car on this list - and McLaren have produced a fantastic piece of kit for the VGT series. With a four litre, V8 hybrid engine capable of producing over 1000 BHP - it is not quite on the level of other VGT cars in terms of outright speed and insanity, but makes up for that by being suitable for any racetrack in game without binning it in almost every corner due to lack of grip levels (like the aforementioned Tomahawk X). It is pretty expensive though, costing one million credits from Brand Central, and only being suitable for the VGT Trophy +.
3) PEUGEOT 908 HDi FAP - TEAM PEUGEOT TOTAL '10 (GR.1)
At the height of the Audi-Peugeot rivalry at Le Mans, this car was one of the centrepieces. And my god what a machine it was. The 908 HDi FAP was driven by Alexander Wurz, Marc Genre and Anthony Davidson in the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans, but failed to finish the race. Despite that, its presence in GT Sport makes me think that it could've gone down in history as one of the greatest cars in Le Mans history if they had won. This car is available for one million credits from Brand Central, and is suitable for the Gr.1 Prototype Series in the GT League.
2) AUDI E-TRON VISION GRAN TURISMO (GR.X)
I wrote a review of this car back in May, which you can check out here. But to sum it up - this 4WD, 803 BHP, all-electric VGT car is a homage to Audi's racing past, and a vision into their future. With electric technology playing a huge part in motorsport nowadays (i.e the always brilliant Formula E), Audi taking advantage of this is a very smart move. Unlike other VGT cars in the game, the Audi e-tron is actually a real-life car - it was showcased before the 2018 Formula E Rome e-Prix, and was featured on this website with Audi Electric:
Plus an interview with ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport Formula E driver Daniel Abt:
The Audi e-tron VGT is available from Brand Central for one million credits, and is suitable for the VGT+ trophy in GT League.
1) NISSAN MOTUL AUTECH GT-R '16 (GR.2)
My favourite car in GT Sport is a Gr.2 car. Go ahead, tell me I'm wrong. Go on....
In all seriousness, I fell in love with this car as soon as it came out in the 1.15 update. It strikes a perfect balance between the speed of the Gr.1 series and the consistency of the Gr.3 series, and takes the best of both worlds and puts them into this beautiful machine. Capable of producing over 600 BHP, with a front wheel and rear engined (FR) drivetrain - it's a dream to handle, and is very fast on track. It is available for 800,000 credits in Brand Central, and has its own series - the All Japan GT Car Championship - in the GT League. If you're looking for a exciting car to drive, I would always recommend giving this one a go...
