In 2017, the latest entry in the long-running Gran Turismo series was unleashed upon the world with the ‘Sport’ iteration. It boasts a number of new features including a full in-depth livery editor.

This editor system is the most advanced version ever to appear in a GT title, allowing players to paint each section of a car individually with a host of customization options. It also includes a vast array of decals. Many real-world companies are represented alongside a variety of fictional ones.

As this feature has become more popular with GT Sport players, the level of detail has reached the point where some stunningly realistic liveries are being produced.

Here is our pick of some of the best ones we’ve found:

The “Castrol Tom’s” Supra has never looked so good

The 1997 All-Japan GT championship series saw the Supra lining up against competition in the GT500 class including the Porsche GT1 and the Nissan Skyline. It made an immediate impact on the series including the setting of a qualifying lap record at the Fuji circuit.

Because Lucozade gives you the fuel to rule – on the track

This Lucozade livered Porsche 911 GT3 RS is not a real thing, but judging by how good it looks, it should be.

A Raptor to outrun a T-Rex in Jurassic Park

If Jeff Goldblum had a Raptor in Jurassic Park, outrunning that very angry T-Rex would have been very easy.

Smoking is bad, but these Marlboro liveries are good

Cigarette brand advertising has been banned since the 2006 season. But this hasn’t stopped GT Sport players trying to recreate this ‘golden’ era of Motorsports liveries on everything from a Porsche 919 Hybrid and beyond.

What’s better than one Calsonic branded Skyline? – Why two of course

The Calsonic Skyline GT-R Race car was built by Nissan in 1993 to complete in the Japan Touring Car Championship having appeared in a number of the GT titles since then. Now, players have ensured that this iconic livery lives on in GT Sport.

Even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles need to get around

If you’ve ever wondered how the heroes in a half shell move around New York, this VW Bus is probably the way. It may not be very stealthy and there is no word on if a Mutant Turtle can actually drive or not, but there is no doubt it’s a very cool thing.

Initial D gets a new DK

If you think Takumi Fujiwara could use an upgrade from his classic AE86 Toyota Sprinter Trueno, then this GT86 is a natural replacement.

Rothmans Racing needs to be a thing again

Earlier we explained the demise of cigarette sponsorship in Motorsports. The Rothmans brand is no exception to this rule, as let’s be honest, the Ferrari 512BB wears it very well.

Brian O’Connor’s Supra has to make an appearance

Now, you can officially live your life a quarter of a mile at a time in GT sport. However, there is no word on if you can race a friend in a drag-spec Dodge Charger towards a moving train, but we remain hopeful.

What do you think of our picks for the greatest GT Sport liveries? Or have we missed some GT Sport related greatness? Let us know in the comments.
