A Bugatti Chiron Roadster is rumoured to be in the works
Hyper-car royalty is about to get the chop.
According to a report from TheSupercarBlog, Bugatti are allegedly building a one-off roadster edition of their record-breaking Chiron, due to a special request from a wealthy (obviously) customer.
Well, I hope they are really well off, because the price-tag that's rumoured to be paired with this crop-top Chiron will be £9 million, and that's before taxes even come into the equation. Once all the paperwork and finer details are settled, this car will be sold for over £10 million. Yikes.

Bugatti have a habit of offering roadster versions of their cars, we've seen them do it with the Veyron. Then, they further divided the Veyron name into, what feels like, a hundred different variations. You had the Grand Sport, the 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edition, the Pur Sang, the Sang Noir .. the list is endless.
Understandably, Bugatti aren't eager to give too much away at such an early stage. Most big brands don't like to comment too much on their top-secret, high-priority projects, and the potential creation of the Chiron Roadster would be exactly that.

One notable aspect of the report from TheSupercarBlog said that, ''the (open-top) Chiron is being offered to customers.'' So, from this we can gather that it may not necessarily be limited to one model, rather, a select few units.
Perhaps this idea was initiated by one customer and Bugatti have had a further demand for it because, you know, Chinese whispers. The proposed £10 million price-tag will ensure it retains its exclusivity, too.

An unreleased concept, called the ''Veyron Barchetta'', was a project which was previously in the works, but for some reason Bugatti decided to pulled the plug on it. Perhaps this Chiron is the second coming of that Barchetta and can go one step further, by actually being put into production.
The convertible Chiron would join a line-up that is already teeming with life. Since the introduction of the Veyron's replacement in 2016, several alternatives have stemmed from the world's fastest Hyper-car.
One such example being the Chiron Pur Sport, which was designed to tear up the race tracks of the world. The most notable car, though, was the Chiron Super Sport 300+ - the record-breaker that became the first production car to topple the historic 300 mph barrier.

On top of those cars, Bugatti already had a string of super-exclusive cars such as the Divo and the Centodieci. Two things are a given with the potential release of a Chiron Roadster. The first is that it would fit right in to Bugatti's line of exquisite cars, and the second is that they almost certainly won't be short of customers. Why? Simple - Bugatti never disappoint.
