A Farewell and Thank You To DriveTribe
But let's keep the spirit of DriveTribe alive. Working on a new platform...

The news has spread far and wide that the digital doors of DriveTribe are shutting for good. It's a shame and quite frankly a punch in the gut to those of us who've made it a staple of our online existence, but let's not lose hope!
One of the greatest things about this site is the community it fostered. Folks from all walks of life came together to read about, discuss, spot, watch and/or opine on something that connected them—cars. Some of us forged friendships from our time here. Others found opportunities for something more.
Perhaps it's time we create an opportunity for ourselves. Over the past couple of weeks, I've been working with a small team to put together a digital space where we'd write about and share our take on the automotive industry's latest happenings. But given this news, it's only fair for us to reconsider the purpose of our upcoming site.
Just as it's important for people to read articles about the latest releases or happenings in the car world, it is equally important for there to be a platform that allows regular people the opportunity to express their thoughts in a space that is easily accessible and discoverable. A place where, like many of you here, people have the opportunity to refine their craft, build a following, and even start or change careers, or best of all just enjoy fun and engaging content with each other.
So I'll be trying my best to make sure we build a platform enables us to do this, but I'll need the help of this great community. Below, I'll be linking a Google Form to collect info from those of you who are interested in being a part of this new community:
Interest Form: https://forms.gle/WPjXyeLic1Wdem4F7
At this stage we're looking to see how many people are interested in joining the new platform and to establish an understanding of what needs we need to meet on a technical level for the site. More details will be collected down the road.
I'll be updating everyone on the status of responses as they roll in, mostly via my Twitter and Instagram (both are @ammadquraishi). I'll link them below so you can easily access them. Drop a follow to keep in the loop!

In the meantime, keep on writing on and share your links with me so I can repost them! My DMs on all platforms are open.

I see that you are working on a new platform that might resemble DriveTribe, but hopefully less costly to operate. Right now, many DTers are wondering which is the best platform to move to, but some of them are just chat rooms, and others don’t have the capability for quizzes, surveys, polls, etc.
Another DT contributor, Noel Charalabous, is building a new platform for his Defining Drives section which he is carrying over from DT. He will be able to add new features as he goes along. In my belief that “two heads are better than one”, do you think there would be any merit in you guys working together to come up with a low cost version of DT? Then, all of us ex-DTers could move there WITHOUT SPLITTING UP. @Noel Charalabous.
