A freight train derailed, among the casualties, some new Jeep Gladiators
A derailment occurred on Wednesday at about 5:30 am in a canyon in Nevada. Fortunately, there are no human casualties. However, the material damage was considerable, as no fewer than 30 cars derailed with vehicles on board. In total, about 100 vehicles were damaged.
Sheriff Kerry Lee said that the authorities were already investigating the causes of the derailment. According to initial hypotheses, the disaster could have been caused by the sudden temperature changes, frequent in the region in summer, that could have caused the rails to bend.
The first images released by the authorities show the extent of the damage. Some vehicles were literally ejected from the cars, including brand new Jeep Gladiators. You can also see a bunch of Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras ready to join their owners on other shots.
Unfortunately, most vehicles will be sent to the scrap yard, forcing their future owners to wait longer. However, things could have been even worse since the train was also carrying dangerous substances. Dangerous substances whose wagons have been miraculously spared. The complete cleaning of the area will take one to two weeks according to the authorities.
