To start off, I am not a collector of 1:18 scale models. The only reason is I only have so much room for them. I have always drooled over them on the internet and in other peoples collections and I have always been jealous. However today I finally got one! At a costco of all places.

The Model has all this detail and open parts, but it only costs $15. With this scale and detail I think it is totally worth it and I highly recommend you reading get one! Maisto makes tons of different cars from Japanese classics to modern American muscle, all the way up to hyper-cars. There is something for everyone.

Now to focus on the Laferrari in particular, the first thing I noticed was all the painted details not to mention the shiny Ferrari red. I also noticed that the model has brakes present. Lots of models for some reason forget to include them. And then the model looks odd. The brakes are ventilated and the calipers are painted with the Ferrari logo on it. One of the best parts of the model is all the doors can open and expose lots of detail. The front "trunk" even opens and exposes a couple of fans with carbon fiber textures. Even though there is not much to see, Maisto still detailed it to the the max. The butterfly doors are stiff and go straight up to unveil the interior of the model. Lucky for me, this Laferrari has red seats which makes the interior pop! The model includes the seat belts and carbon fiber shift paddles. The Gauge cluster is and the tachometer is painted in Ferrari Yellow and the prancing horse is painted onto the steering wheel. Even the a/c vents are outlined in silver. The "Laferrari" lettering is even on the passenger side, near the glove box.

Moving outside the interior and back to more features, the car even has working suspension, and if you look into the fender wells you can see the spring that look like real shocks. To advance even further we arrive at the engine bay. Which is stuffed full of intricate details. Of course one of the most exciting details is the 6.3 L naturally aspirated V-12 that shines with glory. One of my favorite details is all the hybrid system wires that are painted in bright orange, just like the real car. There is lots of silver finishes and carbon fiber textures that flood the engine bay with beauty. It is absolutely incredible.

And now we proceed to the rear. The plastic taillights are very detailed and the large silver shotgun exhausts look outstanding. With all the detail and beauty the model is perfect in my eyes. Especially when you consider the price and the scale. I again highly recommend that you the viewer add a 1:18 Maisto model into your collection if you don't already have one.
