So, you are successful commercial real estate magnate, and you happen to be the owner of Skinwalker Ranch, which is the epicenter of anomalous behavior in the United States so what do you do to relax. Well for Brandon Fugal it's a diversified collection of supercars, that includes a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, and a Porsche. Brandon jokingly refers to his supercars as time machines, helping him to get to his business appointments in the shortest amount of time.

The crown jewel of Brandon’s collection is the without a doubt the Lamborghini Aventador Miura. Brandon has a penchant for black attire and black supercars, so the Aventador Miura edition is suitably clothed in an all-black cloak that evokes images of stealth aircraft like the F-117 Nighthawk and the iconic SR-71 Blackbird. The Aventador Miura pays homage to the legendary Lamborghini Miura on its 50th anniversary. The Miura was produced between 1966 and 1973 and was the first supercar with a rear mid-engined two-seat layout. This layout has since become the standard for high-performance sports and supercars. The Miura in final iteration the P400SV produced 380 horsepower and was for a time the world's fastest production car topping out at 171 mph. The Aventador Miura retains a V12 like the original but produces an eye watering 700 horsepower that propels the Aventador to a top speed of 275 km (217 mph). The Aventador Miura Homage will be rarer than the car it honors with only 50 will be made, versus the 764 Lamborghini Miura’s that were built. Inside the Aventador Miura Lamborghini has stitched 'Miura 50th' on the leather seats. Brandon’s time machine looks at home with his Airbus H130 helicopter. The eagle eyed will notice a Toyota Supra parked on the far side of the hanger (this car is not part of Brandon’s collection but makes for an interesting background). Another useful feature of Brandon’s Aventador is its all-wheel drive system which enables Brandon to keep driving his supercar even in Utah’s fall and winter.

Now Brandon’s Ferrari 488 spider breaks a few of his own rules. For one thing the car is not painted in his preferred stealth black but rather in a fetching silver colour scheme. For another the Ferrari 488 spider is rear wheel drive instead of Brandon's preferred all wheel drive. These abbreviations are offset by the fact Brandon considers the Ferrari as a beautiful piece of art. The art piece possesses equally impressive performance figures. The 488 spider has a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8, the first mid-engine Ferrari to use a turbocharged V8 since the F40. The 670 horsepower will get Brandon to his meetings in a rapid fashion. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 3.0 seconds, while the 0–200 km/h (0–124 mph) acceleration takes slightly longer at 8.7 seconds, and top speed at 325 km/h (202 mph). While on his way to a meeting Brandon can feel the wind in his hair by folding down the Ferrari 488 spiders' retractable hardtop roof. Having had the privilege of driving a Ferrari 488 spider over four days in Los Angeles a few years ago I can testify to the beauty, speed and enjoyability of this magnificent driving machine.

For a less visceral experience above 160 km (100 mph) Brandon turns to his Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS, the latest mutation of the ubiquitous 911 Porsche. The Targa has always been a favourite of mine as it features a power-retractable targa panel. The Targa's opening and closing operation is simply poetry in motion as the rear window cantilevers back as the top folds itself and tucks behind the rear seats, the glass then returning home on a 19-second round trip. The 911 Targa 4 GTS possesses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six rated for 473 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission is a lightning-quick eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic with an electronically locking differential. Brandon’s 911 Targa returns to Brandon’s fleet to its traditional black paint scheme and most importantly for driving in Utah winters possess the friendly all wheel drive system.

Accessorising these supercars with a black Airbus H130 helicopter is the icing on the cake as far as I am concerned. With a fast cruise speed of 237 km and range of 606 km Brandon can access all the properties in his commercial real estate portfolio. My mission which Brandon has enthusiastically endorsed is to bring a hypercar (my preference would be a LaFerrari) to the Airbus hanger for a photoshoot with the H130 and his supercar collection. I look forward to following Brandon’s supercar adventures and his new additions to his fleet. Many thanks to Brandon for providing the stunning images of his supercar fleet.
