A Look Back at the 1991 F1 Season

2y ago

My Friend Adam's Dad gave me several unopened packs of the 1991 Formula 1 Premier Racing Card Series trading cards by Pro Trac. As the package says, "Every Card's A Winner!" As a race fan, it's interesting to open such a time capsule and look over an historic racing season that happened 14 years before I was born.

The one pack I left unopened, maybe to pass on to a future race fan?

As per Wikipedia, the The 1991 Formula One season was the 42nd season of FIA Formula One motor racing series. The 1991 FIA Formula One World Championship, began on 10 March 1991 and ended on 3 November after sixteen races.

Ayrton Senna won his third and last Drivers' World Championship and McLaren-Honda won the Constructors' Championship. Senna's main title challenger was Nigel Mansell at Williams, who won five races on his return to the team compared to Senna's seven. Senna's fierce rival Alain Prost failed to win a race with Ferrari in stark contrast to his title challenge the year before and left the team before the season ended. 1991 also saw the debuts of future world champions Michael Schumacher and Mika Häkkinen.

I hope you enjoy seeing these cards as much as I enjoyed opening them. I have held a few back for future random picture posts. — Myles.
