A new Cadillac V-Series super saloon is coming
The American rival to BMW M Power and Mercedes-AMG is getting a refresh
We all loved Cadillac's attempt at thwarting the might of AMG and BMW M Power with the CTS-V and ATS-V, but there's now a new kid on the block as the brand implements a new era of performance saloons.
Nevermind supercharging, twin turbos are here to stay
The change will start with the CT6-V, a 550hp V8 animal that will utilise twin turbos to blistering effect. Built to take on the likes of the S-Class and 7-Series, the handsome American will spark Cadillac's move away from the ATS-V sedan.
Doesn't the CT6-V look handsome
The ATS-V Coupe will keep going in 2019 but this new shape will take over in the four-door super saloon space.
This isn't the only change coming to Cadillac's line-up – the company is preparing for having a brand new or redesigned car coming out every six months up to 2021. Those movements have started, with the XT4 crossover making its way to Caddy dealerships.
The Cadillac CTS-V has plenty of performance history behind, including a cracking Nurburgring record back in 2009
Three generations in, the V Series has become a well-known performance brand in the USA, with Cadillac successfully establishing the CTS-V and ATS-V as genuine performance contenders.
Will the new CT6-V, 627lb ft monster keep putting the cat amongst the Germans? Comment with your thoughts below!

Loving the caddies.. shame we can’t get em down under...
For some reason I associate Cadillacs with bridge construction projects. I guess a nice Caddie is the sort of car you would drive to view the celebration of the opening of a new bridge. This is the graceful Belle Island bridge in Detroit.
Interesting development. Go Cadillac
Mmmmmm, if it has rwd and a manual gearbox: cadillac, bring it to europe. Please?
I could see it being popular for peeps driving from inland Aussie mining operations to airports, from airports out on to inland toll highways and Interstates , that lead to new bridge construction projects. Great story Mike, It's always good to see a new American luxury car.
