A Porsche Taycan Turbo owner has already driven 11,000 miles around the USA
Even though the 2020 Porsche Taycan only came out the other month, an American owner has already taken his on an 11,000 mile trip around North America. He started his trip in Maine, then went northwest towards Montreal, then west across the Trans-Canada Highway to Vancouver, then down south to San Diego, east to Key Largo, before heading back to Maine again.
This is his epic route
I'm sure that isn't what everyone with an $150,000 EV does, but why on earth wouldn't you? The trip took him a total of 46 days. This isn't all that bad going when you take into consideration the charging time for a Taycan Turbo.
The EPA rating for the Taycan Turbo shows it uses 49 kWh per 100 miles. The driver hadn't reset his setting since started and the car is telling him he did 38.1 kWh per 100 miles driven, which would be about 226 miles per charge based on the usable battery capacity. This would have meant he juiced up around 48 times, so roughly once a day.
To sum up his trip, 'Louv' uploaded a 1 hour 30 minute timelapse on YouTube where he shows his entire journey from start to finish. I am not suggesting you sit through all one and a half hours of it, although since you're probably in isolation, what better things do you have to do?
Would you attempt this ambitious trip in an EV?
