A Rather Radical Experience

As I left home the weather was great, I had a generous breakfast, and there was a huge sense of anticipation… today I would be driving the hard-core Radical SR1 race car at the famous Brands Hatch circuit!

The journey was long, over two-hundred miles, which took a little over three hours. Around an hour into the journey the mood shifted from excitement to doubt after I’d been informed that it was snowing at the circuit. This was rather unsurprising since it was February, but unexpected considering the decent weather when I initially set off. There was a sense of dread; this was my first proper track day in a real, no nonsense racing machine.

When I arrived at the circuit, I was no more tired than when I set off, excitement and adrenaline can do that to you. I came to accept that my first ever track day experience would be an unusual one on account of the snowy weather. After all, how often do you get to have high horsepower fun in the snow?
