A Season In Review XI: Charles Leclerc
Now that's how you do a debut season
An impressive win in GP2 put the weight of the world on Leclerc's shoulders heading into 2019. Fortunately for him, he put on a clinic in how to deal with it. Now after just one season in F1, the pressure ramps up even further as he moves to Ferrari to partner Vettel in 2019.
Understandably, there were a few shaky moments throughout the year, particularly in his first few races, but he soon got into a rhythm and impressed on a consistent basis. An excellent P6 in Azerbaijan was supplemented by a string of P7 finishes to end the year.
The world is Leclerc's oyster and the only doubt now is whether his move to Ferrari has come too soon. For now we can only speculate, but seeing a youngster in a Ferrari is sure to get fans excited.
