A Season In Review XVII: Max Verstappen
Formula 1 and Football don't have much in common, but when talking about Verstappen's season it's hard to use anything other than the 'game of two halves' analogy. A tough start to the season littered with mistakes was compounded by an excellent second half where he was the second best performing driver behind Lewis Hamilton.
Considering how many blunders there were at the start of the year, A spin in Australia, contact with Vettel, in China and a crash in qualifying to name a few, it's quite incredible that he was able to recover to P4 in the championship at the end of the year, just two points behind 3rd.
Another win in Mexico was expertly pulled off and a similarly brilliant win was on the cards at Brazil before a collision with a backmarker put a halt to that. 2019 is all about stringing a season together. Can he be consistent enough to compete for the title?
