A summary of nascar: part one
So most of you Will know about the decline of nascar. This is something I know a bit about as an avid nascar fan. Over the past year I've been watching nascar week in week out and I've tried to get to grips with the sport. So I'm going to write a series about nascar for the Europeans (me included)
So with this post I'll be talking about current day and about the state of the sport
The other week was the final race of the season and a winner was crowned. Kyle Busch won his second cup series title, going one better Than his brother Kurt. Two of his team mates Martin truex jr and Denny Hamlin were both in the final 4. For those who don't know, nascar has a playoff system in the last part of the season which decides the winner.
Nascar has been on a steady slum over the last decade from. A high of nearly challenging the NFL for viewership ratings. In that 10 years we've seen another 7 time champ crowned, some greats leave the sport and the championship format change.
In 2021 the new generation of car will be introduced which should bring better, faster and more popular racing. The first test of these cars happend last month with Austin Dillon (my favorite driver) piloting the car.
This is part one of a many part series
