A titanium watch that looks like it's made from sand

Meet the new Bremont MB Savanna

British watch maker Bremont and Martin-Baker, a British company that specialises in ejections eats for aviation use, have been working together since 2009 and over the last eleven years, their partnership spawned a series of pilot's watches including the latest model, dubbed MB Savanna, which is made from grade 5 titanium but looks like it's made from sand because of the beautiful tactile matte Desert Sand finish that gives the 43 mm case a tri-dimensional and solid look.

The sapphire (with anti-reflective coating, same as the crystal) case back reveals a ruthenium plated skeletonised rotor and the case incorporates the distinctive knurled effect on the barrel and crowns inspired by components on the ejection seats. The dial follows the same ejection seats theme with the second hand - a direct reference to the ejection pull handle, as well as the military theme with the sand-painted dial and the traditional pilot watch indices.

Water resistant is 100 metres, which is a lot for a flieger-style watch, and it is powered by a Bremont calibre 11 1/2”’ BE-36AE automatic chronometer, with 26 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve.

Priced from £4,595.

  • Hopefully it will dry out in The Sun and blow away.

  • Looks great. The only problem is when you decide to go for a swim at the beach so take your watch off you will just lose it.
