A Very Special 1/24 Lamborghini Aventador
A very special Lamborghini Diecast From Maisto
There is something that always captivates me about Lamborghinis. It looks aggressive , bold and mean at the same time. The roar, rumble and crackle of the V12 makes it one of the best sounding engines. The scissor doors are one of the best door designs till now and despite Lamborghini putting top speed in the bottom of their priorities, the Lamborghini Aventador can still hit a top speed of 340 km/h.
This particular Lamborghini Aventador is very special to me, as it was one of my first 'good' diecast cars. I bought this model nearly 8 years ago. And to see it in prime condition today, makes me glad.
The Lamborghini Aventador, even though it has spent 12 years on the market, still seems fresh and new to me. You may say that the Ferrari F8 and 458 look better , and sound better, but I disagree. The Aventador is not as tame as the Ferrari or the McLaren. The Aventador still retains the raging bull, the Ferrari moved from wild stallion to domesticated mare. Lamborghini also domesticated the bull with the Gallardo and the Huracan, but the Aventador and the V12 Flagships act like a Spanish fighting bull who got pricked by a needle in the arse.
This Aventador is a 1/24 scale model by Maisto. This model is extremely detailed. It has a detailed engine bay and a very detailed interior. And this car is rather proportionate. The wheel designs match with the Aventador and the wheels are rubberised. This car also has a nice weight to it.
On the other hand, Maisto's build quality is questionable. The mirrors feel cheap and the hood refuses to stay up. The scissor doors open in a two step action, with the doors opening halfway with one push and fully with two. Bot the doors don't seem to open up at the same height. Also, one door has less resistance than the other when opening up.
However, this can be caused due to regular wear and tear. I got this car when I turned eight.
What I cannot attribute to wear and tear is that the right side mirror fell of when I got the car 8 years ago. I have heard that Maisto mirrors kinda suck.
To keep the hood in place, I had to break an earpick and place it in the engine bay. This car does not have a spoiler that actually opens up.
The Aventador also doesn't depreciate as much as a McLaren, and they are open to you doing anything with your car, unlike Ferrari.
Using the power and brunt of the 700hp V12 the Aventador can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.
The Lamborghini Aventador is one of the best supercars made in the last 10 years and it is definitely one of my favourites. Do not forget to bump this post and follow me if you want to see more diecast posts.
