Abbie Eaton hospitalised following race-related spinal fracture
The former-Grand Tour racing driver did not compete in the W Series finale
Former Grand Tour racing driver and current W Series driver Abbie Eaton is in hospital following an accident at the opening event on Saturday.
In an Instagram post, Abbie said: "Ran wide and went over a HUGE sausage kerbs that launched me into the air giving me a compression fracture at T4 vertebrae.
"A shame not to finish the season off properly but full steam ahead with months of rest, recovery and rehab!", she added.
The incident occurred the day before the W Series season finale at the Circuit of Americas in Austin, Texas.
A statement from her press team said: “Abbie is in good spirits at Dell Seton Hospital where she is being treated,” the statement continued. Everyone at W Series wishes her a speedy recovery.”
