Adventure Searches and foraging
So if it is never just about the destination ... is it about the searches along the way?
SO IF IT IS NEVER JUST ABOUT THE DESTINATION ... IS IT ABOUT THE SEARCHES ALONG THE WAY?
For many of us there is nothing like a good forage. Foraging food from the wild, berries, mushrooms, catching trout from a newly found river or pool (or any). That hour to hour consultation of local cloud cover and weather forecasts when you are in far away lands driving for those clear skies hunting for the elusive Aurora Australis or Borealis. Junk shops and junk yards on the other hand are far less elusive, often with a far more regular rate of return. Yet maybe best of all is the Hot Thermal Spring search where often all you get is a photo and/or a rough description of where it is, and the rest is up to you.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE FORAGE? SHARE THEM HERE, HERE ARE SOME OF OUR CURRENT CATEGORIES. Searching or stumbling upon that JUNK SHOP, COLLECTABLES ANTIQUE SHOP AND/OR JUNK YARD. What was your FAV SHOP or BEST FIND?
Junk and Disorderly, 18 Kawana Street, Northcote, Auckland, New Zealand
FOOD FROM THE WILD - Wild Berries, Trout, Mushrooms, Seafood ... Fresh from land, river or sea to plate, via your campfire.
Silver Birch Bolete, 'Edible and Choice'. These glorious specimens were found in Marlborough, New Zealand. They paired beyond description with local Wainui eye-fillet steak, Pesto Orzo salad and a fine Central Otago Peregrine Pinot Noir
THERMAL HOT-SPRINGS/POOLS - Natural hot water rivers, pools and springs. How better to relax the body ... cook your dinner and mull your wine. This has to be one of the best past times. These locations need sharing ... just with those passionate and enthusiastic. Share your stories finding these elusive wonders, or just tempt us with snippets of information so we have to earn the privilege.
I could post the photos I've been to, yet this one is ellusive and managed to get away.
EPIC VEHICLE RECOVERIES - Cross country drives to recover old or new vehicles for restoration or new adventures with them. What was your last cross-country or cross continent vehicle recovery?
This photo wasn't my last one, story for another day, yet wanted to use this photo. Waiaro, Coromandel, 19 April, 2016.
