Alexander Albon has been confirmed to drive for Red Bull Racing alongside Max Verstappen for the 2020 F1 Season.
2019 has been Albon's first year in F1 after a late call into the sport towards the end of 2018. He started the season at Toro Rosso with Daniil Kvyat but was promoted to Red Bull during the summer break replacing Pierre Gasly who took his spot in Toro Rosso.
Since joining Red Bull, Albon has been outscoring Verstappen and proved that he has more than what it takes to keep his seat at the team. The powers that be have seemed to come to the same conclusion with this announcement. Albon currently sits in sixth place in the Driver's Championship with 84 points.
It has also been confirmed that Toro Rosso will remain with its current lineup of Kvyat and Gasly for 2020.
What do you think of this news? Has Albon done enough to keep his spot at Red Bull? Or do either Gasly or Kvyat deserve a shot in the senior team again? Let me know in the comments below.
