Alfa Romeo gives its Quadrifoglio models the update they desperately needed
Despite their small faults and irritations, the Quadrifoglio twins are probably the best performance cars that money can buy right now. The 2.9-litre twin-turbo Ferrari derived V6 is undoubtedly one of the best engines that have been ever fitted to a road car. It produces a mammoth 505 hp, enough to move a cargo ship and produces an ungodly sound which is the perfect cure for anyone suffering from any form of depression. Sadly however, using the exhaust in its loudest setting hasn't been very easy. Until now.
The exhaust in these Alfa Romeos has two modes, a normal mode, and a loud exhaust mode. And any car enthusiast will know that the Loud exhaust mode is the one that you should be using all the time. But this wasn't as easy as you may think. You see, in order to keep your car's exhaust at its loudest setting, you had to select the aggressive Race Mode.
This can be quite a problem since this mode not only makes the suspension stiff but also turns off the Stability Control, which can be a nightmare. Especially if the car is an extremely powerful rear-wheel-drive Giulia. Thankfully, Alfa Romeo has been listening to customers. So, if you buy a new Giulia or Stelvio QV, you can now have that beautiful exhaust tone in Dynamic Mode. In plain English, this means you can use the Loud Mode every day, without having to make any unnecessary sacrifices. And honestly, this has to be one of the best and most useful updates ever.
There' no news on whether or not Alfa will release this update for existing Quadrifoglio models owners, but don't get your hopes too high. Although you can always get an aftermarket company to do that for you.
What are your thoughts on the new update? Should Alfa implement this update in its existing cars as well? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
