Alfa Romeo mocks Audi Mercedes and BMW in a series of hilarious ads
A set of ads perfectly shows of why petrolheads love the Italian brand
When the Alfa Romeo Giulia finally arrived in 2016 it shook up the somewhat stale and boring executive barge market.
Audi, BMW and Mercedes are all great cars no doubt about it, but when it comes to having that 'something' when compared to the stunning Giulia they turn out a bit bland. Alfa decided to play on that feeling of inexplicable affection that petrolheads develop with the brand in a series of hilarious ads.
The ads feature over the-top stereotypical American businessmen attempting to sell their German luxury barges, trying to pitch their wide array of features before revealing they just don't quite have that 'something', which is why they are selling it.
First up is Dan trying to sell his Audi. He touts it as a 'laptop on wheels', boasts about how many sales he got, and mentions the 'car' button because you know, it's car, it's just not a... well see for yourself.
If you actually call the number on the screen you will get to a voicemail with the following message recorded:
“Hey, what’s up? It’s Dan. If you’re calling about the Audi, it isn’t really for sale – that was just a video I made for my interns to show them that you can sell anything.
“Besides, between you and me – if you’re looking for the real deal, you know, a set you apart from the pack kind of car, you need to get yourself an Alfa Romeo Giulia.”
Next up we have Shawn and well.. I will just let him do the next part... "IT’S SHAWN!!! BUY MY MERCEDES! IT HAS SO MANY FEATURES! THEY CAN ALL BE YOURS! I’M SCREAMING BECAUSE I’M SO EXCITED FOR YOU! ALSO CAPS LOCK GOT STUCK ON MY COMPUTER!"
Lastly we have Doug and his Bimmer with it's quiet roar, new carpet mats as well as heated seats to keep your buttocks warm. Doug would really like you to buy his car as he has his mind on something different.
