Alfa Romeo Racing release their 2021 challenger
The new Alfa Romeo livery, what do you think?
At 11:00am GMT, Alfa Romeo released the livery that will be on their 2021 challenger, the C41. The car is coated with a striking red and white livery that has intrigued and pleased many Formula 1 fans.
On this year's car, we can see that there are a lot more white areas than on last years car, however the deep red is still a prominent feature. The C41 will be driven by the 2007 F1 world champion, Kimi Raikkonen, and Italian Ferrari F1 junior, Antonio Giovinazzi. The car will still be powered by a 1.6L Ferrari V6 engine (This being the third team on the grid who use Ferrari engines) and the team will hope to improve on their 2020 Championship position of 8th.
Alfa Romeo Racing have signed on a new sponsor: Eighty One Powerdrink
Alongside of the new colour scheme, Alfa Romeo have also signed a new sponsor: Eighty One Powerdrink. In the weeks leading up to the reveal it was rumoured that Alfa Romeo may be signing the infamous Rich Energy company as a sponsor, however it seems that Rich Energy will partner a different team.
Alfa Romeo will want to get back on form after slipping into a downwards spiral, finishing most races outside of the points. And with 2008 Canadian GP winner, Robert Kubica signed as a test and development driver since 2020 they hope this (along with Raikkonen's experience) will boost them towards the midfield runners.
