Alfa Romeo unveil a Gold Giulia Quadrifoglio for the Mille Miglia

Paying homage to the old Alfas we all love!

Alfa Romeo have released this stunning gold coloured Giulia Quadrifoglio which was showcased at the Mille Miglia.

This car pays homage to some of the earlier Alfas from the 60s and 70s. The car which springs to mind for me would have to be the 1972 Alfa Romeo Montreal. I saw one of these in gold once.

This shade of gold is called 'Ochre' and I think it really makes this car something special. I bet this shade of gold really pops in the light. If this was Dubai it would probably be real gold but I'm afraid this isn't.

The Mille Miglia is a is an open road endurance race which has been around since the late 1920s, if you can believe it. The endurance event spans 1,609 km (1,000 miles) and is often referred to as 'the most beautiful race in the world'. It is one event I have always wanted to check out.

It is rather fitting that Alfa showcase this car for the event as they hold the most wins for the race. Sadly, the event itself isn't actually a race anymore but instead a chance for people with stunning cars to meet together and celebrate what was one of the most exciting races of all time. The last car to ever win the Mille Miglia was the Ferrari 315 S.

The Giulia Quadrifoglio is the brand's most desired car in Alfa's lineup. It is powered by a monstrous 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 which produces 503 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. They do sound immense too! I (as do most people) wish Alfa Romeo made an estate version of this. I have often thought it would be thoroughly exciting to see on the road.

Do you like this as much as we do?
