ALPINA 02: A NEW CLASS OF TUNING
After the presentation of the new BMW 02 Series, the Alpine tuner made some special versions of the model
It was 1966 when the BMW management developed a new series of sports cars to further diversify its price list.
The new 02 Series was then scheduled up to 1977 in various models and the Alpina tuner didn't miss the chance to make some special versions.
Among the best variations made by the company there is the A4s, produced between 1973 and 1974 and based on the famous 2002 Tii.
Compared to the standard model, the Alpina variant featured new sports alloy wheels, a new braking system consisting of four disc brakes and new independent wheel suspensions with anti-roll bars.
The M10 2.0 four-cylinder engine powered by a five-speed manual gearbox boosted from 130 to 195 hp, making it the most performing car of the legendary 2002 Turbo.
ALPINA A4S TOURING
In addition to the standard version, Alpina engineers also changed the Touring model that had recently been introduced in the Series 02 price list.
Equipped with the same updates as the A4s, the Touring variant had reduced the processing of the M10 2.0 engine whose power went from 130 to just 160 hp, while still guaranteeing a top speed of 210 km / h.
Compared to the preparations carried out on the other cars of the Bavarian company those of the Series 02 are perhaps less famous and sought after by collectors but are no less valid in technical and performance terms. I find the Touring variant oddly attractive, and you?
