Amazon Creates 'Immersive' Grand Tour Experience To Get An Emmy Nomination!
And it might just work
Two weeks ago, Shifting Lanes reported on The Grand Tour having been nominated for a Bafta Crafts award for the first time ever.
We'll find out if The Grand Tour's excellent technical achievements will be rewarded with an awards victory on 22 April.
Meanwhile, Amazon has announced its submissions for Emmy consideration in remarkably flamboyant fashion.

For the second year running, Amazon is trying to sway Television Academy voters in favour of its content by hosting immersive 'for your consideration' experiences of its flagship programmes.
From Thursday 12th to Friday 27th April, the Hollywood Athletic Club will be transformed into what has been dubbed 'the Prime experience' - an opportunity to get up close and personal with the streaming giant's biggest hits.
Amazon has carefully selected the shows it thinks stand the best chance of being nominated for an Emmy.
Alongside The Grand Tour, visitors will be invited to experience the worlds of such hits as The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, Long Strange Trip, Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, Mozart in the Jungle and The Dangerous Book for Boys.
Whilst certain aspects of the events are for Television Academy members only, several parts are open to the public, including screenings, cocktail nights and panel discussions.
Details are scarce regarding what the 'immersive Grand Tour experience' might actually entail, which allows for dangerous speculation.
'We’re very excited to bring such a diverse lineup of activities to our Emmy FYC experience,' said Mike Benson, Head of Marketing at Amazon Studios.
'These activities will deliver immersive experiences for the general public as well as insightful panel discussions to drive further awareness for series we’re submitting for Emmy consideration.'
