American and Brit common sense and thrift, have at times produced similar ideas.
The goal of the original Mustang design was for it to be under 1100kgs.
The '64 manual 2.7 litre 6 cyl version came in just over that, at 1111kg.
But what if the cues from the early '60s, 995 kg Brit Corsair coupe had been used, as on this '63 Mustang concept ?
Would it have kept the weight down a tad ?
And if a sub 1100 kg Mustang were to built today, with a sub 2 litre engine, would people like to own one ?
