The highly anticipated Aston Martin and Red Bull Hypercar the Valkyrie was revealed in near production form earlier this summer. According to the team from Gaydon, it is thought to be “about 95%” completed.

Now, one example has been listed for sale via James Edition. While it is not a physical car just yet, it is a build slot for one with a 2019 delivery. The price for all this greatness is 3.3 million Euros together with a caveat stating that any potential buyer would not be “tied to the obligatory purchase of an Aston Martin Lagonda, a stipulation forced upon original owners”.

When one Twitter user highlighted that this Valkyrie was listed for sale, he gave a very clear and to the point response:

Aston and Red Bull Racing are expected to start building the planned run of 150 cars in late 2018 with the first finished examples making their way to customers during 2019.

The rumoured 1,000bhp hypercar is thought to be capable of lapping Silverstone as quick as an F1 car thanks to a multitude of aero trickery and carbon-fibre tub construction which acts as the backbone of the car itself. This structure allowed the Redbull team to design the wind channels around the passenger cell leading to the rear diffuser, thus giving the car massive amount of downforce capability without the need for an unsightly rear wing or automated active aero.

Weighing in at around 1,000kg the car is thought to have a 1bhp to 1kg power to weight ratio. With all that power coming from a Cosworth built 6.5-litre high-revving V12 engine with assistance coming from a KERS style ‘lightweight hybrid battery system’.

This lightness was achieved by a truly staggering attention to detail with the construction of the car, those headlamps, for example, are 30/40 percent lighter than traditional units thanks to the direct mounting of all the required components to a single aluminium frame. Even the famous Aston badge has been revised for this halo model; engineers replaced it with a chemical etched version which is thinner than a human hair.

We have reached out to Aston Martin directly to get their viewpoint on this listing as it's been available for several months. We will update you when we get a response.
