An in-depth look at the AMG Project One from the guys who designed it
2017 was an outstanding year for hypercar reveals, with the likes of Aston Martin and McLaren putting on one hell of a show through the Valkyrie and Senna. Arguably, it was the Mercedes that stole the show however through its AMG Project One revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
AMGs in general are completely insane, with most of them sporting twin turbocharged V8s powerful enough to destroy most tyre compounds. And yet the firm has taken inspiration from its hugely successful Formula 1 programme and slotted a detuned F1 engine into its new hypercar.
Along with a mix of F1 and LMP1 aerodynamics, the 1000hp hypercar is like nothing we've ever seen before and should further the game massively from the current crop of automotive royalty.
