So, here it is. DRIVETRIBE (always in capitals, it seems) has finally landed and this will be the tribe where you'll be able to follow all my various musings, reviews and adventures. Apologies in advance. As well as reposting my bigger videos and features from our headline Tribe Nation tribe, I’ll post lots of behind the scenes photos, videos and scribblings here. Of course if I find some digital ditty in another tribe that I think would happily wipe its feet on the welcome mat, pour itself a drink, settle into an adequately squashy armchair and generally feel at home here then I'll repost that too.
Almost everyone I have spoken to in the last six weeks has asked me what DRIVETRIBE is and it’s rather a relief to not have to explain it to you (as I assume you’re reading this either on the website or the app and therefore it’s fairly self evident). While I can have a reasonable stab at describing the shift quality of a Porsche Cayman six-speed manual gearbox, it turns out I’m not quite so adept at succinctly mapping out the machinations of a new motoring publishing platform. Anyway, hopefully you agree that the end result in front of you is rather slick and attractive.
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind since I left evo at the end of October, with trips to Wales, Morocco (above), London, Wales again, Los Angeles and lots of planning for the weeks and months to come. Expect supercars, rally cars (including my mk2 Escort), interesting people and some escapades to incredible roads around the world. Oh and there will be plenty of updates on my new long termer - a VW Golf GTI Clubsport 40th Anniversary Edition that I will probably just refer to as the GTI 40. Exciting times.
