AN INTRODUCTION TO WHEEL LIFE

    WELCOME TO MY TRIBE

So, here it is. DRIVETRIBE (always in capitals, it seems) has finally landed and this will be the tribe where you'll be able to follow all my various musings, reviews and adventures. Apologies in advance. As well as reposting my bigger videos and features from our headline Tribe Nation tribe, I’ll post lots of behind the scenes photos, videos and scribblings here. Of course if I find some digital ditty in another tribe that I think would happily wipe its feet on the welcome mat, pour itself a drink, settle into an adequately squashy armchair and generally feel at home here then I'll repost that too.

Almost everyone I have spoken to in the last six weeks has asked me what DRIVETRIBE is and it’s rather a relief to not have to explain it to you (as I assume you’re reading this either on the website or the app and therefore it’s fairly self evident). While I can have a reasonable stab at describing the shift quality of a Porsche Cayman six-speed manual gearbox, it turns out I’m not quite so adept at succinctly mapping out the machinations of a new motoring publishing platform. Anyway, hopefully you agree that the end result in front of you is rather slick and attractive.

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind since I left evo at the end of October, with trips to Wales, Morocco (above), London, Wales again, Los Angeles and lots of planning for the weeks and months to come. Expect supercars, rally cars (including my mk2 Escort), interesting people and some escapades to incredible roads around the world. Oh and there will be plenty of updates on my new long termer - a VW Golf GTI Clubsport 40th Anniversary Edition that I will probably just refer to as the GTI 40. Exciting times.

    • I've joined the (DT) party now, just because of you Henry :) I happen to stumble on few of your articles in the past couple of weeks and I'm glad to see the expressions and content so far! Kudos

    • Henry - I'm a relative novice on here but loving your Drivetribe posts thus far. I was gutted you left evo (found out the hard way when both my emails to you and Nick bounced, to much confusion!). I was trying to send you a Mustang article that I eventually decided to post on DT myself! Seriously considering canning my evo subscription now that I have this... Keep it up and all the best!

      • Thanks Rory - glad you've found Drivetribe. As you've already discovered, it's a great outlet for being able to publish your own stuff on cars.

      • Certainly is Henry. If you have a moment, I'd be eternally grateful for your feedback on my first two articles. If DT wants a California rep, my hand is up!

    • Great to see that there's a place where you can display your excellent pieces of motoring journalism!

I've always been a great fan of your previous articles and videos in EVO...was actually sad when I read you left.

But now you opened a new chapter and I'm of course looking ahead for more great stuff.

      All the best!

    • I have always loved your writing style in Evo, Henry and was rather gutted when I read you were leaving. If I saw a car featured that I wasn't too fussed about, I wouldn't make an effort to read it unless I saw your name against it. You're a huge loss to that magazine.

I'm hoping now that you'll go on to win the WRC...that's not being overly optimistic is it?

    • You don't know how happy I am to see you on here, loved you on Evo. You & Jethro casting the net wide & far hopefully bringing pleasure (of the car variety) to millions. Refreshing like a refresher and a shaken bottle of coke.
