Apparently, the Porsche 911 is the UK's most valuable classic car
Porsche sees off rivals such as Jaguar and Ferrari to claim the top spot
Classic car markets are a wonderful place to whittle away the hours, whether that's finding your next investment, buying a lifelong dream car, or simply seeing what's on the market.
Well, it seems that Porsche are currently 'top dogs' here in the UK, with the 911 taking the title of the 'most valuable' classic car in the UK, according to research conducted by HERO-ERA. With 23,029 models in circulation, HERO-ERA estimates the market to be valued in excess of £900 million - that's a lot of 911s!
Not only that, but the Porsche 911 was also able to out-perform other typical 'classic car' high-end brands and models, seeing off the likes of the Jaguar E-type, and other brands such as Ferrari and Aston Martin despite their impressive back-catalogue of popular classics.
According to the same report, Porsche is the only manufacturer to exceed a £1 billion share of the classic car market: "By total value, the UK's stock of classic Porsches is worth the most. At £1.18 billion (13.5% of the total), Porsche is the only manufacturer to exceed £1 billion. As will be seen, this is largely driven by 23,000 Porsche 911s, worth an estimated £911 million ($1,246 billion)."
Clearly, we have a deep-rooted love for the 911 here in the UK. Which era is your favourite? Let us know in the comments below!
