Aprilia Tuono 660 breaks cover

APRILIA have taken the covers off the shiny new Tuono 660.

Teaming up with the eagerly awaited RS 660, which is also due early this year, the duo will form part of a serious assault on the mid capacity market.

But the big news doesn't stop there, as there will also be 35kW learner-approved version available for new riders as well. The 2021 Aprilia Tuono 660 combines manageable power and a light weight refined chassis architecture to create a sporty new presence.

Paired with an electronic controls package derived directly from the Tuono V4, the 660 version delivers a sports naked bike, characterised by ultra high technical content, aligned with an even more extreme street and daily-use connotation.

It makes for a more natural and comfortable ride, with the Aprilia Tuono 660 sharing its primary project objective with the RS 660, creating a bike with an extraordinary power/weight ratio. With a kerb weight of 183kg and 70kW of power.

Targeting young riders, the Tuono 660 appeals to those who may be moving up from smaller engine capacities looking for a high-level sport naked that can provide fun on the road and support the occasional track day.

It has the same aggressive and sporty style as other members of the Tuono family, standing out for its characteristic reduced surface dimensions that enhance it's sporty character.

Like the RS 660 the new Tuono 660 also adopts the innovative concept of the double fairing with aerodynamic appendix function, born out of more in-depth research in the wind tunnel.

The Tuono 660 boast a magnificent structure committed to light weight made up of the frame and swingarm, both in die-cast aluminium. The adjustable Kayaba suspension system has a dedicated set-up.

The high handlebar and the chassis architecture measurements differentiate Tuono 660 from the RS, benefiting total control, responsiveness and agile handling, thanks to a different offset of the fork plate.

The latest generation, forward-facing twin cylinder, small and lightweight, has been developed from the experience gained on the powerful Aprilia V4.

The 270 degree combustion timing allows that character and grit that riders love so much to be achieved. The engine itself is used as a bearing element and contributes to forming a compact, lightweight and stiff structure.

The Tuono 660 electronics are state of the art, the ride by wire electronic accelerator provides the best management of the APRC electronic controls suite.

To easily manage all the electronic controls through the colour TFT instrumentation, Aprilia has fine tuned five riding modes.

Three colour schemes will be available for the Tuono 660, Concept Black, Iridium Grey and the brand new and attractive Acid Gold which was debuted on the RS 660.

Scheduled to arrive mid 2021 the Tuono 660 marks an exciting addition to the Aprilia line-up. Pricing and full specifications are due closer to arrival, but pricing is expected to be in line with RS 660 pricing.
