Marc Marquez says the MotoGP world title battle is ‘on fire’ as the Repsol Honda rider prepares to seize his chance to open an advantage at Aragon this weekend.
Marquez rates the Spanish circuit as one of his favourite venues on the calendar and the reigning champion will feel he can steal a march on his rivals on Sunday, with Marquez and Andrea Dovizioso level on 199 points at the top of the standings.
Marquez heads into the weekend on the back of a victory at Misano and the Spaniard is determined to build on his momentum as the championship enters a critical phase.
“The battle is on fire, five races to go and equal points with Dovi, and [Maverick] Vinales is very close. Valentino [Rossi] is coming back and Dani [Pedrosa] also is not very, very far, so we will keep pushing until the end,” he said.
