Valentino Rossi returned to the MotoGP paddock on Thursday at Aragon, just 21 days after breaking his right tibia and fibula in an enduro training accident.

Having ridden laps on an R1 superbike at Misano on Monday and Tuesday, the nine-time world champion has decided to try an early return to grand prix action this weekend.

Following surgery, doctors had predicted the Italian star would need 30-40 days recovery, which is similar to the timeframe needed when Rossi previously broke his leg in 2010.
