  • It depens on how you define 'better'. In terms of speed, Power, durability and safety new cars are obviously better. But when it comes to feeling, heritage, looks, value and design there is no way getting around the fact that old cars are superior.

  • They’re really not. For the executive named Daniel Fenton, they’re great. He isn’t a car guy. But he wants 2 cars. A comfy one and a sporty one. So he picks a 5-series BMW and a BMW M2. Maybe a Competition if the higher ups pay him well. For the the folk who really don’t care. They get a golf or a fiesta.

These cars are fine. But aren’t good for car guys. I don’t think we have accomplished a better feat than we did with the F1, we peaked. It didn’t need 1000hp to get there, just 627. Just because Bugatti slumped in a W16 in their Veyron doesn’t make them better. The Veyron has a bad engine horsepower wise. Also because, a 2006 koenigsegg ccx could get 806bhp and a top speed of a claimed 250mph. All without another 8 cylinders (V8) and without 4 turbos (2 superchargers) So nope, old cars are better. They just dump more power into it and pray. Please gordon Murray, make that T50 great
