Are the SIDI REX boots the best motorbike boot on the planet?
We have put the SIDI REX motorbike boots through their paces to find out how good they really are.
If you’re in the market for a premium set of sports bike boots that can be used on the road and track, then you really need to put the SIDI REX boot at the top of your shopping list. They’re literally that good.
With a host of safety and comfort features, as well as the piece of mind that just about all components can be replaced if required, these boots represent a great investment in motorbike performance wear.
The upper of the SIDI REX boot is made from Technomicro microfibre, while the lining is constructed from Air Teflon mesh and Cambrelle. In layman’s terms, the inner is very breathable and designed for maximum comfort in hotter weather.
The upside is that they’re still extremely durable and offer supreme protection. We know that because we put our boots to the test on a number of bikes during a variety of conditions, including cold and hot weather.
Whether wearing the SIDI REX boots for a few hours or a complete day, we found them nice and comfy. They offered good protective support and the toe sliders worked well, while still offering good feel when flicking though the gears, or applying the rear brakes.
SIDI REX Boots
Off the bike, the SIDI REX boots are reasonably comfortable too, although after a while we felt a little pressure on our little toe. It wasn’t really enough to cause major discomfort though. They also take a little coercion to get on.
The tricky part is sizing, and like all motorcycle apparel, we suggest you try before you buy, to ensure you get the right fit. That’s particularly so here. We went up half a size, but on advice from others, should probably have gone up a full size.
Put simply, they’re a tight fit in the size department, but after a few wears and a little time spent in the boot, they bed in. The process of getting them on and off becomes a whole lot easier too. It’s definitely something to be aware of during the purchase process.
Features of the SIDI REX boot include a shin plate, Techno-3 push closure system, ankle support braces, and elastic panels on the front and back joints. In addition, there is an asymmetric and shaped heel cup, toe sliders, and a nylon inner sole.
The arch support pad is removable, and there’s a rubber top sole and a side air ventilation system, the latter of which is very much appreciated in the heat of a 30-degree day.
SIDI REX Boots
The SIDI REX boots retail for $649.95 and one of the best features for us when splashing this kind of cash is that all parts can be purchased separately, so they can be replaced. This means that you don’t have to replace the entire set of boots if one component wears out.
Sizing ranges from size 42 through to 47, and the SIDI REX is available in a range of colour variants as well. Our tested boots were in the black/black variety, but further colours can be found at the SIDI website.
Overall, the SIDI REX boot is a great product and one the team here at Exhaust Notes Australia would highly recommend. Whether using for the track or road, the boot offers maximum protection and is pretty comfortable as well.
THE SIDI REX boot is available at all good motorcycle apparel stockists. This product test was first published on Exhaust Notes Australia.

I just want to add to this that depending on your country’s importer, the Rex does come in a size 48. The Canadian importer doesn’t bother with the largest size so I had to import a pair myself from Europe.
A note on fitment for wide, large, feet. I went from a size 48 2010’s Supertech R, size 48 SMX 6 v2 Gore-Tex, and size 47 SMX-1R Shoeboot and the Rex does fit a hair narrower but still works. My actual foot size is a US 13E, but I typically wear US 14D shoes and the Rex _just_ fits width wise. My size M14 athletic insole is a perfect fit if that’s any indication too
That looks incredible . I can kick gorilla in the nuts with this😂😂😂
Just before the gorilla starts inspecting your insides, item by item. Nobody likes their nut kicking and picking on something so much bigger, stronger, and little doubt more pissed off than you are, seems the ultimate folly. If/when you...

The best boots feel like wearing trainers, but stop you breaking your ankle, toes and shrug off slides. These things look as if walking in them would be a genuine challenge, let alone trying to find the pegs after getting a bit tangled up recovering from a 'moment'. Quite honestly, these things get more and more like an insect's exoskeleton every iteration. Where is the new technology, the new material usage, imaginative engineering and not restyling of yet more clumsy plastic bolted in place like a concrete boot courtesy of the local Mafia?
