Are you ready for an all new Car Culture set?

and its a sequel of a sequel

Seems like Mattel is on the roll for the Car Culture series and before we can rest our wallets another one is waiting on the horizon. Just like 'The Terminator' or 'Rocky' movies, the original Car Culture Japan Historics was an instant hit when it debuted back in 2016 and now has spun another sequel.

To make it more attractive, 3 all new castings will debut in this series.

1. Mazda Cosmo Sport first seen in TLVN.

2nd one is the original Nissan Silvia based on the 1965 model.

3rd is the Nissan Sunny truck

2 other previously released castings will be the DR30 Skyline and Honda City Turbo.

Some say that the previous JH2 was more of a peg warmer or a flopped in terms of a movie sequel compared to the first one. I would say maybe if you compare it as a set as the debut quickly sold out or was never found in the usual Target or Walmart. However as individuals the more desirable castings quickly sold out in our location. Will the 2nd sequel reawaken the passion for the JDM castings? Share your thoughts.

    • I'm ready for anything in the Car Culture series. There are no bad ones!

  • So Hot Wheels want me to buy all the models again that I have already as Tomica?

(The sad truth is, I probably will...)

  • Being very honest this feels like a lazy attempt by hot wheels. The cars are “ok” and the card art is meh compared to the original JH1 set

    • My thinking is those new castings like Mazda and Nissan Sunny would disappear first. The rest will be a wait and see.
