The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, whose branches include visual, auditory, written, and movement forms.
If you go to a museum and stand before a Matisse, many things occur. You see the color and the texture of the paint, then the image; and as you imagine the painter and the scene, you are for a brief instant taken away. You transcend the wooden floor's creak and the humid air. As you drive it returns, as the music of the road returns, whooshing against your knowing ear. You hear the symphony of wind and engine, and you feel their vibration. You see the beauty of the world, and you imagine...
A bump in the road immediately takes you back to the wind and the sound of the journey. And you realise, as you stare over the shining form of the car-with its gleaming fenders, graceful movement, and thrumming bravado- that, not only is the car a museum, the car is a museum piece. And not only is the road a painting, the road is a series of paintings, all presented before you, for you to ponder.
