As a GM fan, it's fun to look at the past and the things they want you to forget. Here we have the Chevy S10 Electric. I'd like to think of this as proof that if the EV-1 wasnt crushed, people wouldn't care whatsoever. This electruck (see what I did there) uses the same lead acid battery packs found in the EV-1 and even uses the same paddle charger the EV-1 used. Maybe this isnt remembered because they used a base model standard cab short box S10. Or because the S10 also used a FWD instead of a RWD configuration because of the EV-1's shared internals. Maybe it was the range, which in 1997 was all of about 45 miles depending on load, no regenerative braking or anything of the sort, just 45 miles. Sure that's great for the city but on a work truck? That just wouldn't cut it. So maybe a few dozen factors led to this being left in the sands of time but it was a start.
