Aston martin, the maker of luxurious grand tourers and iconic performance cars has been struggling to sell in the past few years. As a low-volume automaker, its never so easy to get things going, especially in a market that depends on plenty of research in the technology department to stay ahead of the competition. Aston's struggle was clearly stated in the 201 4 vanquish's interior that looked like it'd been stripped of an old VW Golf. Despite 2017's record breaking sales and the introduction of new models, Aston martin is still looking for a bigger brother for financial aid.

"We are making a new kind of a company, a company that can survive on 7,000 to 14,000 very highly priced, very profitable cars a year, but it can survive because of its partnerships. It can be very profitable on that 7,000 to 14,000 cars a year but only by having a big brother that can help it out" said Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin. The most likely candidate is Daimler, the owner of Mercedes Benz that already owns about 5% of Aston Martin and recently started sharing engines and transmissions with them.

Current models of Aston Martin has shown drastic improvements in design, interior and performance, and with the current advanced lineup, Aston is safe for at least another 5 years. The current lineup includes beautiful purebred British sport cars like the new Vantage, DB11, Vanquish S and the mighty Vulcan. No matter how self sufficient the lineup proves Aston to be, the manufacturer can do with some help in technological research.
